Best Buys - Week of 2/28/10

My "best buys" are: items for $1 or less, meat for $2 or less a pound, and a few other items that are at rock bottom prices. When I keep my shopping list to these items, I can bring home a ton of groceries for very little money.

Also, check out Other Grocery Stores in St Louis for best buys at the smaller stores.

  1. Was at the St Charles Aldi (Jungerman/94) last night.. They were out of grapes and said they won't be getting any more this week. Just an FYI. I know I was disappointed!

  2. Hi Sarah - Thanks for the info. I wonder if all the store are out of stock. The grapes are from Chile, I'm sure the earthquake is the reason for the stock issues.

  3. Jeri, you're right on about the grapes. I was at Soulard Market yesterday and grapes were $2.50 per pound!! Talk about sticker shock! The booths all said to brace yourself for such prices for a couple of weeks, then there will likely be a flood in the market and we'll see prices drop significantly.

  4. Hi Melissa - I can live without grapes for a few weeks. I just hope we will see them again at an affordable price. I have my doubts we will this spring.
